Python

From zero to real Python automation in 8 weeks — live, hands-on and project-based.

8 weeks · Sat & Sun 13:00–16:00 (UTC+1) Live on Google Meet

Python is the language behind automation, data, AI and so much of the modern internet - and it is the best first language you can learn.

This 8-week intensive takes you from a blank editor to real, working programs: scratch scripts that tidy up folders, tools that read and write data, bots that talk to live APIs, and a finished capstone project you can show employers.

You learn by building, every single session. Saturdays introduce fresh material with live coding; Sundays are guided labs and project work with your instructor and classmates. Small classes, real feedback, and a WhatsApp study group to keep you going between sessions.

What you'll learn

By the end, you'll have a live database chatbot running on your own server, and the skills to build the next one faster.

  • Write clean, readable Python from absolute scratch
  • Shape output, read tracebacks and debug like a professional
  • Control program flow with decisions, loops and collections
  • Read and write files — text, CSV and JSON that persist
  • Build reusable functions, modules and your own libraries
  • Design real programs with object-oriented Python
  • Handle errors safely with exceptions and custom error types
  • Install and use third-party libraries with pip and virtual environments
  • Consume live APIs resiliently: timeouts, retries and safe tokens
  • Ship a portfolio-ready capstone toolbox built from everything you learned

Module by module, building real skills

Two live lessons each week — a Saturday lesson introducing fresh material and a Sunday guided lab to embed it.

Module 1 · Getting Started

Day 1 — Meet Python: Setup, Your First Program, and How Python Reads Code
What is programming & why PythonInstall Python & check the versionEditors: VS Code, Thonny, IDLEREPL vs running a .py scriptprint(), indentation & commentsLab: print a personal greeting
Day 2 — Shaping Output and Reading Errors
Syntax, runtime & logic errorsReading a tracebackprint() with sep= and end=The "5" + "5" string-vs-number gotchaMini-project: a shop-bill printer

Module 2 · Variables

Day 3 — Variables I: Names, Values, Assignment, and input()
What a variable is & the assignment operatorNaming rules, keywords & snake_caseDynamic typing & rebindingReassignment and +=input() always returns a stringMini-project: a greeter program
Day 4 — Variables II: f-Strings, Swaps, Constants, and Clean Code
f-strings & expressions in {}Multiple assignment & the swap idiomConstants in UPPER_CASE, no magic numbersPrint-debugging as a techniqueMini-project: a temperature converter

Module 3 · Data Types & Control Flow

Day 5 — Numbers and Type Conversion
type() and the core typesArithmetic: //, %, ** and order of operationsConverting with int()/float()/str()/bool()ValueError & TypeError from bad conversionsFloat precision & banker's roundingMini-project: a tip calculator
Day 6 — Strings
Quoting styles, indexing & slicingString immutabilityMethods: lower, upper, strip, replace, splitFormat specs (:.2f), .join(), len()Cleaning input by chaining methodsMini-project: a receipt printer
Day 7 — Booleans and Decisions
Comparison & logical operatorsif / elif / elseTruthiness: bool("False") is True!= vs == trap, is NoneShort-circuit & chained comparisonsExercises: truth tables & De Morgan's laws

Module 4 · Data Structures

Day 8 — Lists
Creating, indexing & slicingappend, insert, remove, pop, sort, reverseBuilt-ins: len, sum, min, max, inMutability & sort() vs sorted()Aliasing vs .copy()Exercise: a to-do list
Day 9 — Tuples and Dictionaries
Tuples: immutable & unpackingWhen to use a tuple vs a listDictionary add, update & deletekeys(), values(), items(), get()Nested dictionaries & KeyErrorMini-project: a gradebook
Day 10 — Sets and Choosing a Structure
Sets & uniquenessUnion, intersection, differenceChoosing the right structureset() vs {} empty-collection gotchaExercise: unique words from text

Module 5 · Loops

Day 11 — Loops
for loops & range()while loopsbreak & continueNested loops & infinite-loop trapsIterating lists & dict.items()List (and dict/set) comprehensionsMini-project: a number-guessing game

Module 6 · Functions

Day 12 — Functions I: Defining, Calling, Parameters and Arguments
def and calling a functionPositional vs keyword argumentsDefault parameter valuesreturn & returning multiple valuesThe mutable-default-argument trapMini-project: a command-line calculator
Day 13 — Functions II: Scope, Docstrings, and Robust Design
Local vs global scopeWhy to avoid relying on globalsDocstrings & focused functionsThe UnboundLocalError gotchaExercise: scope-prediction puzzles

Module 7 · Modules

Day 14 — Modules and the Standard Library
What a module is; import mathfrom math import sqrtImporting your own modulesThe if __name__ == "__main__": patternA tour of random and datetimeMini-project: a utility module

Module 8 · File Handling

Day 15 — File Handling
open() and with open(...)Modes: "r", "w", "a"readlines() & write()File paths with pathlibReading & writing CSV and JSONFileNotFoundError & the "w"-mode trapMini-project: a persistent to-do list

Module 9 · Error Handling

Day 16 — Errors and Exceptions
try / exceptCatching specific exceptionselse / finally and raiseCatch the most specific error firstWhy a bare except: is dangerousMini-project: a safe command-line divider

Module 10 · Object-Oriented Programming

Day 17 — OOP I: Classes and Objects
Classes as blueprints, objects as instances__init__ and how self worksInstance vs class attributes__str__ must return, not printEncapsulation & validation that raisesThe mutable-class-attribute trapMini-project: a Dog class
Day 18 — OOP II: Inheritance, Composition, and Custom Exceptions
Child classes & super().__init__()Overriding & isinstance()Polymorphism: one call, many behavioursComposition: has-a vs is-aCustom exception classes & familiesWhen plain functions beat classesMini-project: a BankAccount with a SavingsAccount subclass

Module 11 · Working with Libraries

Day 19 — Working with Libraries
Modules, packages, PyPI & pipVirtual environments & requirements.txtHow Python finds a library; ModuleNotFoundErrorrequests, BeautifulSoup, pandas, matplotlibHTTP basics & reading the documentationResilient API calls: timeouts, retries, rate limitsKeeping tokens out of your codeMini-project: a Repo Explorer CLI

Module 12 · Capstone

Day 20 — Capstone Project: The Python Toolbox
Six tools: converter, splitter, guessing game, contact book, expenses, text analyzerMenu launcher with a dispatch dictionaryhelpers.py & three layers of error handlingSaving data safely with JSON & pathlibTesting code that asks questionsREADME & a clean rebuild
Day 21 — Review, Final Assessment, and What Comes Next
The "Use today" loop: review by recall, not rereadingCheat sheets per module & a gotcha hall of fameGlossary of ~55 terms, each tagged with its DayWhat we left out — first examples: Decimal, properties, decorators, generators, dataclasses, type hintsRoadmap of seven tracks: automation, web, data, testing, databases, games, AITurn your error journal into a study plan with a small programFinal assessment: eight tasks, 100 points, closed-book then open-bookMini-project: cheat sheet, learning plan & first-project milestonesBug hunt & practice: Decimal money, a property, a decorator, a generator, a dataclass
